So when one of their own started asking questions, they went after her.

Ottawa police suspended veteran detective Helen Grus after she uncovered cases that demanded answers. Parents reportedly picked up healthy babies to feed them, only to watch them collapse and die in their arms. Another baby had an enlarged heart.

After 19 years in law enforcement, Grus had never seen anything like it.

So she investigated.

Police sent her home and accused her of improperly accessing records.
